In late October 2008, the University Libraries became the recipient of a public relations, special recognition award from the Mississippi Library Association, for the program of activities which we prepared and sponsored for the presidential debate. These activities included the “Hail to the Chief” exhibit, the Debate Subject Guide, three brown bags, a keepsake and a special program to open the exhibit.
The award citation reads, “This unique project showcased the library’s services and special collections and the utilization of technology. It presented a once in a lifetime event with National/international implications.”
